‘Powerful Tools for Caregivers’ Program Begins April 7
SOUTH HADLEY — Beginning on Thursday, April 7, WestMass ElderCare is offering a six-week program titled “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” at Loomis Village, 20 Bayon Dr., South Hadley.
The course is designed to help caregivers develop a wealth of tools to reduce personal stress, change negative self-talk, communicate needs to family members and healthcare or service providers, communicate more effectively in challenging situations, recognize the messages in emotions to deal with difficult feelings, and make tough caregiving decisions. Participants will receive a copy of The Caregiver Helpbook.
The program is free and open to the public and will be held on Thursday afternoons for six weeks beginning April 7 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Registration is required. To register, contact Carol Constant at (413) 588-5184 or cconstant@loomiscommunities.org.
“Powerful Tools for Caregivers” is offered by WestMass ElderCare through Dementia Friendly Communities in South Hadley, a coalition of South Hadley municipal departments, community organizations, and businesses, co-sponsored by O’Connell Care at Home and the Loomis Communities.
