Rachel’s Table to Hold Ribbon-cutting Ceremony for New Refrigerated Truck

SPRINGFIELD — Rachel’s Table of Western Massachusetts will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch of its new 16-foot refrigerated box truck. This new addition will allow the organization to significantly increase the amount of healthy, perishable food it can safely transport and distribute to those in need throughout the region.

The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 16 at 2:30 p.m. in the Jewish Community Center parking lot at Poppie’s Way, off 594 Converse St., Longmeadow. The event is open to the public.

Rachel’s Table is also looking for volunteer drivers for this truck. Flexible days and hours are available.

The new refrigerated truck marks a major step forward in Rachel’s Table’s food-rescue and distribution efforts. With enhanced capacity and food-safety measures, the organization will be able to expand its reach and deliver more fresh, nutritious food to agencies and individuals across Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties.
