Radiothon for Baystate Children’s Hospital Funds Care for Local Kids
SPRINGFIELD — The airwaves were filled with inspiring stories from patients, families, and caregivers during the 24th annual 94.7 WMAS Radiothon for Baystate Children’s Hospital, which took place on March 4-5.
The event raised $256,235 in support of care for patients at Baystate Children’s Hospital. These funds will go to support pediatric care, including the purchase of kid-sized equipment, creating an inviting and friendly space for patients, and research. All proceeds raised during the event stay in Western Mass.
“We are the only accredited, full-service children’s hospital in Western Massachusetts, and funding raised through events like the Radiothon support keeping care local for our neighbors,” said Peter Banko, president and CEO of Baystate Health. “Every family wants highly reliable, safe care for their children, and those who have contributed to this event are supporting resources to do just this, helping families when they need us most. I am grateful for the generosity from our sponsors, community, and caregivers.”
Baystate Children’s Hospital is the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, which helps provide more opportunities to support kids in local communities.
