Red Cross to Honor Hometown Heroes on March 11

SPRINGFIELD — The American Red Cross Pioneer Valley Chapter’s 2010 Hometown Heroes Breakfast will take place on Thursday, March 11 at 7:30 a.m. at the MassMutual Center.

This annual event honors local people who have shown courage, kindness, and unselfish character when a friend, family member, or stranger faced a life-threatening situation; or who have had an extraordinary impact on their community or fellow man.

This annual signature event is the chapter’s largest fund-raising event, providing resources to support the work of the Pioneer Valley Chapter throughout its communities. From 24/7 disaster relief to life-saving training programs and emergency communications services to our nation’s military, this event helps to ensure the fiscal strength of the local chapter of the Red Cross.

This year’s event is presented by Bay State Gas Co, while OMG Inc. is the Major Sponsor, and the Home Builders and Remodeling Assoc. of Western Mass. is an Award Level Sponsor. Support is also provided by Zasco Productions for the production of the event and by MassMutual Center and Centerplate as facility and catering sponsors this year. Also, 22News donates its production expertise in promoting this event and in creating the video tributes to the annual nominees.
