Registration Open for Run to End Homelessness on March 8

SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Rescue Mission is asking runners and walkers to register for its Run to End Homelessness on Saturday, March 8 in Forest Park. It’s an inspiring opportunity to make a difference by supporting vital rehabilitation programs and much-needed community food outreach initiatives for men, women, and children in greater Springfield.

“As the need for our services continues to grow, it is critical to build up our resources, and this is one of our biggest fundraisers,” Springfield Rescue Mission Executive Director and CEO Kevin Ramsdell said. “It’s always special to see the community come together in the spirit of helping our neighbors in need.”

Participants can register by clicking here. There are options for a 5K, 10K, and the Young Hero’s Fun Run for ages 6-12.

In addition to the race, Springfield Rescue Mission is hosting a complimentary “Carb Up” spaghetti dinner at the Basketball Hall of Fame the night before the event for participants and their families, including music, raffle prizes, and local artisan vendors.

Race organizers are also inviting sponsors to participate, offering exposure and recognition for those businesses on banners and signs along the race route.

The Springfield Rescue Mission offers much-needed services for the poor and people experiencing homelessness in Greater Springfield. Services provided free of charge include an emergency shelter, mobile feeding program, rehabilitation/transformation center, transitional-living facility, clothing, medical services, Christian counseling, financial literacy, workforce development, high-school equivalency, higher-education opportunities, and more.
