Retirement Community Breaks Ground
PRINGFIELD — Ground was broken earlier this month for construction of Keystone Woods, the Pioneer Valley’s newest senior living community.
Keystone Woods is a $20 million project to be completed in two phases, and will offer a total of 97 independent living apartments and 89 assisted living apartments when completed.
The project will offer well-designed, market-rate independent living and assisted living apartment-style accommodations. It will also include a distinct specialized care wing that will offer memory- enhancement services for a limited number of residents.
Keystone Woods will not require a large entry fee like many senior living communities, said a spokesperson for developers The Roche Associates Inc. and Keystone Living, LLC. Instead, it will rent its apartments on a month-to-month basis for both ongoing residency and short-term stays and respite care. The location, on Grayson Drive in Springfield, offers easy access to highways, shopping, medical offices, restaurants, and places of worship.
