Second Chance Now Offering Dog Grooming Services at Springfield Veterinary Hospital

SPRINGFIELD — Second Chance Animal Services announced the addition of dog grooming services at its Springfield Community Veterinary Hospital, located at 67 Mulberry St. Grooming appointments can now be scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays. Walk-in nail trims for both cats and dogs are also available on these days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This new service is part of Second Chance’s ongoing mission to provide affordable, accessible veterinary care to keep pets healthy and in their homes. All Second Chance vet hospitals offer affordable care to everyone, and those who qualify can receive additional subsidies. Grooming plays an important role in a pet’s overall health, and Second Chance is proud to expand its offerings in the Springfield community.

“We are excited to offer grooming at our Springfield location,” Second Chance CEO Sheryl Blancato said. “It’s another way we can support pet owners in keeping their pets healthy and comfortable. Our team is committed to providing the same compassionate care in grooming as we do in our veterinary services.”

She noted that Second Chance has already been assisting pet owners with issues like matting. “By expanding our grooming services, we hope to make it easier for pet owners to keep up with regular grooming and prevent problems before they start.”

All pets receiving grooming services, including walk-in nail trims, must be up to date on their rabies vaccination. Proof of vaccination is required at the time of service unless it is already on file with the hospital.
