SPRINGFIELD — The Sisters of Providence Heath System has opened Mercy Care-Forest Park at 473 Sumner Ave. in Springfield. Located at the corner of Lenox Street and Sumner Avenue, Mercy Care-Forest Park will provide women’s health and other medical services.
The women’s health services at Mercy Care-Forest Park will include annual physical exams and pap tests, STD testing, treatment and counseling, pregnancy testing, and prenatal and postpartum care. Additionally, ultrasound testing and lab work will be available, as well as education, treatment, and counseling for perimenopause and menopause.
The center is staffed by Brian Toole, M.D., Robin LaValley, C.N.M., and Carmen Smidy, C.N.M. The same team of health care professionals formerly served Springfield’s Forest Park neighborhood at the Caring Health Center.
“Our excellent clinical team continues to provide the outstanding care our patients have come to expect,” said James E. Fanale, M.D., chief operating officer of Mercy Medical Center. “We also expect that Mercy Care-Forest Park will improve access to important health services for residents of Springfield.”
