SkinCatering Opens Second Location in Tower Square
SPRINGFIELD — Leanne Sedlak, owner of SkinCatering Spa, has opened a second location in downtown Springfield’s Tower Square, located at 1500 Main St., on the second floor.
Mayor Domenic Sarno attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony last month. “I would like to thank Leanne for her belief and investment here in downtown Springfield and specifically here in Tower Square,” he said. “This is another great story of a growing and exciting business, and it is happening right here in our Springfield.”
Don Courtemanche, executive director of the Springfield Business Improvement District (BID), attended as well. “With a huge downtown customer base in place and the built-in expertise and support offered by Tower Square management and the BID management, I have no doubt that SkinCatering Spa will be immensely successful in their Tower Square location,” he said. “I envision this day spa as a terrific compliment to other area businesses and yet another unique offering to employers contemplating a move downtown.”
Added Sedlak, “I love Springfield. My grandparents grew up here on Dresden Street, and my gram worked at the very first Friendly’s restaurant. It has a proud history as an innovative city, and I’m excited to be opening a business here to participate in the revitalization.”
SkinCatering spent its first year as a mobile salon, traveling to clients’ homes to perform spa services. The company aims to provide caring, supportive services to benefit the joy and health of its clientele. Due to its success, Sedlak was forced to open a more permanent location in South Hadley, which now serves as the organization’s first business location.
However, the company’s growth hasn’t stopped, hence the move to Tower Square. “Springfield doesn’t get enough credit,” Sedlak said. “Downtown has joy, artful creation, and a real sense of community that gets overlooked. I hope to inspire people to participate in life outside of work and to show other retail businesses that being here works.”
SkinCatering uses only natural ingredients to ensure the most beneficial, glowing treatments possible for sensitive skin. Additionally, the company is the first in Western Mass. to be certified by the Melanoma Foundation of New England for skin-cancer awareness.
