State Announces New Number for Reporting Elder Abuse and Neglect
BOSTON — Beginning June 30, all calls to report elder abuse and neglect in Massachusetts must be made to a new phone number: (800) 922-2275.
Every community in Massachusetts is covered by a designated protective-service agency. After a report is taken, a call center will electronically route it to the appropriate agency, such as Greater Springfield Senior Services Inc. Once the local agency receives the report from the call center, it will determine the best course of action to alleviate the risk to the older person. All calls are confidential.
