STCC Announces Pinning Ceremonies for Health Programs

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) announced upcoming pinning ceremonies to celebrate the achievements of students in its health programs. These ceremonies, held in May and June, mark a significant milestone for students as they transition from academic studies to professional practice in their respective fields.

Pinning ceremonies honor students who have completed rigorous academic and clinical training in healthcare disciplines. Family, friends, faculty, and staff are invited to attend these events, which recognize the dedication and hard work of graduates.

The schedule for the STCC pinning ceremonies is as follows:

• Respiratory Care: Wednesday, May 14, 4:30 to 6 p.m., Scibelli Hall (Building 2) theater.

• Dental Assisting: Thursday, May 15, 6 to 7 p.m., Scibelli Hall (Building 2) theater.

• Diagnostic Medical Imaging (including Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Radiologic Technology): Friday, May 16, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Scibelli Hall (Building 2) theater.

• Surgical Technology: Friday, May 16, 5 to 6:30 p.m., Ira H. Rubenzahl Student Learning Commons (Building 19) forum.

• Dental Hygiene: Thursday, May 22, 6 to 8 p.m., Scibelli Hall (Building 2) theater.

• Nursing: Tuesday, May 27, 4 to 6 p.m., Scibelli Hall (Building 2) theater and Building 2 gym.

• Medical Assistant: Wednesday, June 18, 6 to 8 p.m., Scibelli Hall (Building 2) theater.

• Clinical Lab Science: Thursday, June 26, 4 to 6:30 p.m., Building 20, Room 106. A reception will follow in the lobby of Building 20.

“The pinning ceremony is a long-standing tradition in healthcare education that symbolizes a student’s transition into their professional career,” said Christopher Scott, dean of the School of Health and Patient Simulation at STCC. “We are incredibly proud of our graduates and look forward to celebrating their accomplishments with them and their loved ones.”
