Takis-Smith Joins Cardiology Practice At BMC

PITTSFIELD — Rebecca D. Takis-Smith has been appointed a physician assistant in Cardiology at Berkshire Medical Center. She will work with Peter Zwerner, M.D. and David Finck, M.D., cardiologists practicing with Berkshire Faculty Services and with offices located in the BMC Medical Arts Complex.

She will also be assisting the physicians in their work at the Berkshire Medical Center Cardiovascular Center, also located in the Medical Arts Complex. There, she will assist with non-invasive cardiac testing and aid in research projects undertaken by physicians.

Takis-Smith comes to BMC from Springfield Southwest Community Health Center, where she practiced as an adult medicine provider in a community health clinic. Previously, she worked as a physician assistant with Cheryl Mattern, M.D., a family-practice physician in Ilion, N.Y.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Assumption College in Worcester, and graduated from the Physician Associated Program with a Master of Medical Science degree from Yale Univ-ersity School of Medicine.
