Tapestry Health Expands Medication Abortion Services to the Berkshires
PITTSFIELD — Tapestry announced that medication abortion services are now available at its Pittsfield clinic.
“We are excited and proud to introduce this vital service to Berkshire County,” said Katrina Mattson, manager of the Tapestry Pittsfield Sexual and Reproductive Health clinic. “Abortion access is extremely limited in our area, making it almost an ‘abortion desert.’ Tapestry Health has long been committed to supporting individuals’ full range of reproductive health choices. Offering this service means that clients who previously had to travel long distances for services or faced financial barriers can now receive the care they need close to home.”
Tapestry Health first offered medication abortion in Northampton in 2023. “Amidst the increasing legal threats to reproductive rights and despite the 2024 Supreme Court decision to uphold access to Mifepristone, anxiety surrounding abortion access remains prevalent,” the clinic noted. “By expanding our services to Pittsfield, Tapestry Health is responding directly to the needs of our community, ensuring broader access to safe and reliable abortion care.”
