The Garden to Host Virtual Book Reading on Nov. 18, National Children’s Grief Awareness Day
NORTHAMPTON — The Garden: A Center for Grieving Children and Teens will present a virtual book reading by local author Holly Thompson on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m.
This book reading is in honor of National Children’s Grief Awareness Day, which falls on Nov. 18 and is designed to help the public become more aware of the needs of grieving children and the benefits that children can get through support of others.
Thompson will read her book Orchards, which tells the story of a young adult following the death of a classmate and the character’s journey to process the pain and guilt she feels about the tragedy while working in the orchards in her native Japan. A Q&A session will follow the book reading.
This program is appropriate for adults and young people ages 12 and up. To RSVP, email vecdhc@cooleydickinson.org. Upon registration, a Zoom link will be sent with confirmation of the registration.
