‘The Menopause Situation & A Shopping Spree’ Slated for Dec. 2
SPRINGFIELD — Menopause is a natural part of being a woman. It may, however, have some not-so-fun symptoms and issues. Knowing what to expect helps to ease worries and keep a woman healthy.
“The Menopause Situation & A Shopping Spree,” to be held Wednesday, Dec. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Baystate Health Education Center in Holyoke, may be just what the doctor ordered. Dr. Mary Pat Roy, an endocrinologist at Baystate Medical Center, will answer common, and not-so-common, questions about menopause and other conditions that concern women.
After the menopause talk, Debbie Wright will share fashion tips and tricks on how to look and feel your personal best, followed by shopping. The night’s agenda includes visiting with vendors and grabbing a bite to eat and beginning the shopping spree (5-6 p.m.); menopause talk and fashion show (6:15-7 p.m.); and more shopping and door prizes (7-8 p.m.).
The menu for the night includes Mediterranean cold hors d’oeuvres: bruschetta topping sliced baguette, toasted crostini and shredded parmesan cheese, hummus and pita wedges, and veggie and dip platters.
The Baystate Health Education Center is located at 361 Whitney Ave. Sponsored by Baystate Health’s Spirit of Women, the event is free. To register, call (800) 377-4325.
