Traffic at Baystate’s Medical Center Drive Entrance Reduced This Week
SPRINGFIELD — Traffic along Medical Center Drive, the main entrance to Baystate Medical Center, will be reduced to one widened lane between 6 a.m. Monday morning, March 20, to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 24, to accommodate work inside electrical manholes located on and adjacent to Medical Center Drive.
Barricades will be set up along several locations on the south side of Medical Center Drive — leaving entrances to all parking areas open — as a safety measure, and all efforts are being made to minimize any major disruption to traffic.
All entrances and exits to the Daly Building and valet, Observation Unit, and Medical Office Building will remain open. Guards will be staffed at the barricades during peak busy time from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day to direct traffic around them. After 4 p.m., flashing warning lights will be stationed there. All work is weather-dependent.
