VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System Expands In-person Appointments
LEEDS — The VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System successfully converted care to video and telephone visits during the Coronavirus pandemic. As the rate of COVID-19 infection decreases in the community, the medical center is informing patients and their families that it is increasing in-person appointments in accordance with state and national VA guidelines. Call to make an appointment, and staff will help determine if an in-person visit is appropriate at this time.
For more information, VA patients may call the healthcare system’s main phone line at (413) 584-4040, or visit www.centralwesternmass.va.gov.
“We are committed to providing safe and accessible healthcare to our veterans,” said VA Central Western Massachusetts Chief of Staff Dr. Seth Kupferschmid. “It is paramount, as always, that we do so as safely as possible — relying on state and federal guidelines for safely operating.”
Additionally, the medical center announced a new phone number to call if patients choose to go to an emergency room in the community. For ER-visit information, call the VA at (844) 724-7842.
