VCare CEO Donates $5,000 to Fund Electronic Search and Rescue Equipment
CHICOPEE — Sergey Sokolovsky, CEO of VCare of Chicopee and Holyoke, donated $5,000 to fund essential electronic search and rescue (ESAR) membership and equipment for the city of Chicopee from the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office, thanks to the efforts of Chloe Soto, Communications & Special Projects director for the city of Chicopee.
The state-of-the-art equipment will significantly aid authorities in finding family members with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or mental disabilities who are prone to wandering. The ESAR equipment, equipped with RF band technology, will allow law enforcement to quickly locate and safely return individuals who may elope and become lost, providing peace of mind for families in the community. This contribution highlights the dedication of local stakeholders to the safety and well-being of Chicopee residents.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have community leaders like Mr. Sokolovsky and dedicated city advocates like Chloe Soto, Fire Chief Dan Stamborski, and Police Chief Patrick Major,” Chicopee Mayor John Vieau said. “This equipment is a game-changer in ensuring the safety of some of our most vulnerable residents. We are grateful for this donation, which will make a significant difference for many Chicopee families.”
Amy Stewart, director of VCare Adult Day Health Center in Chicopee, and Nicole Maisonet, director of Vcare in Holyoke, will join Vieau to present the donation check on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 3 p.m. in the mayor’s office.
