Webinar on Nov. 1 to Discuss How Social Media Affects Adolescent Development
SPRINGFIELD — The Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts will present a webinar on Friday, Nov. 1 from noon to 1:15 p.m. featuring Jill Walsh, an author, researcher, and lecturer who speaks on technology as it relates to adolescent development, and Liza Hirsch from the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General.
National conversations around social-media safety and mental health have intensified, with 42 state attorneys general calling for a surgeon general warning label. This webinar will cover the evolving landscape of social media and its influence on young people, potential benefits and risks, the role of parents and educators in promoting healthy usage, implications of the proposed surgeon general warning, and strategies for addressing social media-related challenges.
