Whip City Animal Sanctuary to Honor Local Donor on Nov. 23
WESTFIELD — Whip City Animal Sanctuary will honor William Reed on Saturday, Nov. 23. The sanctuary is the recipient of an abutting 11-acre parcel of land donated by Reed, who will be presented with a plaque commemorating his donation at 11 a.m. In addition, a sign will be erected on the new property honoring him in perpetuity.
The sanctuary intends to build an additional facility on this new property to expand its operations. The public is welcome to join the sanctuary founders and volunteers to help celebrate this event.
“We’re are all so grateful for this gift. The magnitude of its impact will be felt for generations to come,” said Kerry Plourde, co-founder of Whip City Animal Sanctuary. “The additional land will allow us to provide homes to many more animals in need. We’re very excited to begin the next chapter of our journey.”
