Willie Ross School for the Deaf Announces Michael Kelley as New Trustee

LONGMEADOW — Willie Ross School for the Deaf (WRSD) announced that Michael Kelley has joined the school’s board of trustees. Kelley brings nearly 15 years of experience in the banking and mortgage industry to the Willie Ross board, serving as assistant vice president, mortgage originator at Arrha Credit Union since 2018.

In his position at Arrha, Kelley is responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual company sales goals for residential mortgage and consumer lending. He is also responsible for creating brand awareness, networking, and establishing business relationships, and volunteers with local community organizations.

Prior to Arrha, Kelley served as mortgage originator at Polish National Credit Union, branch manager and mortgage specialist at Westfield Bank, and assistant branch manager at TD Bank.

“I am honored to join the board of trustees that serves such an important role in the lives of hard-of-hearing and deaf young people,” he said. “It is through the support of the trustees, stakeholders, and the community at large that Willie Ross has been able to earn the reputation as the gold standard in deaf education. I look forward to my service in support of the school and the valuable service it provides to the students and families it serves.”

Kelley has served as board member and 2nd vice president of the Springfield Rotary Club since 2014. He has also been recognized as a top-five credit-union mortgage originator by Banker & Tradesman in 2016, 2017, and 2021.

“We are pleased to welcome Michael to our board of trustees,” said Bert Carter, president and CEO of WRSD. “The Willie Ross School has been fortunate to have talented and resourceful trustees. We would not have achieved the success we have as a school without the valuable contributions of trustees. Michael will be a great addition to the culture that the board has created.”
