Wing Physicians Score High On Tufts Profile
PALMER — The physicians at Wing Medical Centers scored above the national “best practice” score in five out of six categories used by Tufts Health Plan to measure quality of care and patient satisfaction. The ranking means that the physician’s group score was not only statistically above the national average, but also above the national “best practice” score.
The five measurements that Wing Memorial physicians received the highest rankings are: satisfaction with the primary care provider (internists/pediatricians), access to specialty care, diabetic eye exam, breast cancer screening, and cervical cancer screening.
The sixth category, “wait time for an appointment,” resulted in a ‘very good’ score, meaning that it was statistically above the national average.
Tufts Health Plan’s stated goals for the release of the data is to educate its members to help them make better health care decisions and to recognize the high performance of the Tufts Health Plan affiliated groups.
Wing Memorial Medical Centers are located in Belchertown, Ludlow, Monson, Palmer, and Wilbraham. There are more than 135 active primary care physicians and specialists on staff.
