Suicide-prevention Program Slated

SPRINGFIELD — Recognizing suicide as a major health problem, health care professionals from around the country will gather at a daylong conference, Suicide Prevention: What Can We Do?” on Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Log Cabin in Holyoke.
Designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors, teachers, employee assistance professionals, police, EMTs, and other first responders, the program is designed to increase awareness of how to prevent suicide.

The program will be led by a national and regional faculty, including doctors from Baystate Medical Center.

Tuition through Oct. 30 is $25 online (www.pware.com) and $35 by mail or fax, and $10 additional after that date.
