Air-purifier Workshop to Help Attendees Navigate Air Quality, Extreme Heat
SPRINGFIELD — The Healthy Air Network — a project of the Pioneer Valley Asthma Coalition convened by the Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts — will host a free community workshop on Saturday, June 29 from noon to 2 p.m. at Springfield City Library, Mason Square Branch, 765 State St., Springfield.
Attendees will learn how to:
• Build their own air cleaner/purifier using a box fan;
• Take action during times of poor air quality, extreme temperatures, and severe weather events;
• Navigate healthyairnetwork.org to check the air quality in their neighborhood; and
• Get a tree planted at their residence.
The first 10 individuals will get a free air-purifier kit (box fan and air filter). Light refreshments will be provided. Click here to register.
