Holyoke Medical Center Relocates Designated COVID-19 Testing Area

HOLYOKE — Holyoke Medical Center has relocated the designated COVID-19 testing site on the main campus of the hospital. The testing site is now located in the Auxiliary Conference Center.

People looking to be tested should follow the posted signage for directions, call the number listed on the parking signs from their car when they arrive at the hospital, and remain in their car until asked to enter the facility to be tested.

PCR test results currently take up to two to three days to be provided. Other molecular test results, which are approved by the state of Massachusetts, will be performed on the same day, and results can be accessed through the hospital’s online portal as soon as testing is completed.

“With the upcoming holidays and increase of COVID-19 infections in our community, we have seen a significant increase in the number of people seeking to be tested,” said Jon Gronbach, Laboratory director for Holyoke Medical Center. “This new process is allowing us to provide more social distancing for all of our patients while those seeking to be tested remain comfortably in their own vehicles.”
