Applewood Receives Holleran Choice Community Award

AMHERST — Applewood, a member of The Loomis Communities, announced that the continuing care retirement community (CCRC) has been awarded the Holleran Choice Community Award for resident engagement, by exceeding Holleran Engagement Benchmark scores over the past six months.

The award also signifies that residents have rated Applewood as a great place to live with an enriched culture of engagement. Applewood is one of nine communities to be named in the first round of winners for resident engagement, out of more than 750 communities nationwide.

Holleran’s founder and CEO, Michelle Holleran, said, “This designation was created because Holleran knows the value of being a Choice Community. These communities boast strong cultures of employee and resident engagement where employees feel their workplaces honor them, and residents feel they are supported in their successful aging.”

Holleran has the largest benchmark of senior living engagement scores by which campuses can compare performance relative to their peers. Backed by 26 years of research and uncompromised measures, Holleran provides communities with the data needed to provide a culture of engagement for their residents.

The Loomis Communities is the longest serving, most experienced provider of senior living in the Pioneer Valley. As a not-for-profit organization, Loomis’ mission is to enrich the lives of older adults on three campuses, Applewood in Amherst, Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing in Springfield and Loomis Village in South Hadley.
