PALMER — The Audiology and Hearing Improvement Center at Wing Memorial Hospital & Medical Centers has announced that applications are being accepted to help patients in Palmer and Ludlow obtain a hearing aid.
An anonymous donor has established the Audiology Honor Fund. “I want to help area residents who cannot afford a hearing aid to obtain some extra funding so that they can get the hearing aid they need,” said the anonymous donor. This donor tried several hearing aids from many places and found a fit at the Audiology and Hearing Improvement Center.
An applicant must fill out a short application and meet certain criteria in order to obtain funding from the Audiology Honor Fund. Specifically, the applicant must have no insurance that covers hearing aids, the applicant’s yearly income must be less than 150{06cf2b9696b159f874511d23dbc893eb1ac83014175ed30550cfff22781411e5} of the federal poverty level, and the applicant must be serious about wearing a hearing aid.
Applications can be picked up anytime at the main lobby of Wing Memorial Hospital or by calling (413) 284-5499 (please mention your name and address in your message).
