Baystate Announces Traffic Changes as Expansion Project Commences
SPRINGFIELD — To accommodate preparatory construction for the Hospital of the Future, Baystate Medical Center is implementing some changes in traffic patterns on its main campus at 759 Chestnut St. in Springfield. Visitors to Baystate Medical Center will be asked to observe the following traffic rules.
Effective July 21, Medical Center Drive is becoming a one-way street with all traffic entering the Baystate Medical Center campus from Springfield Street and departing via Chapin Terrace only. The change affects patients and visitors to the hospital and Medical Office Building who park in lots along Medical Center Drive, including the Daly Parking Garage.
Parking lots adjacent to Chestnut Street will not be affected by these changes. For the convenience of all patients and guests, valet parking continues to be offered at the Daly entrance of Baystate Medical Center on Medical Center Drive, as well as other entrances on Chestnut Street including the Chestnut Surgery Center and Wesson Women and Infants’ Unit.
Any questions about the new traffic patterns should be directed to the Baystate office of Public Affairs and Community Relations at (413) 794-7626.
