Baystate President Honored By Boy Scouts

SPRINGFIELD — Mark R. Tolosky, president and CEO of Baystate Health System, was recently presented with the Silver Beaver Award by the Boy Scouts of America.

Established in 1931, the award is presented for distinguished service to young people within the Boys Scouts of America local council.

“The Pioneer Valley Boy Scouts served more than 6,000 people in 2003 through approximately 1,700 adult volunteers in more than 150 scouting groups. This is the highest award that a local council can give to a volunteer who goes above and beyond in their contributing to the success of the organization,” said Larry Bystran, executive director of the Pioneer Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America. “This is the first year Mr. Tolosky has been nominated, and he is very deserving of this award.”
