Baystate Wing Hospital Adds Wound Care Services in Partnership with Healogics Wound Care

PALMER — Baystate Wing Hospital recently announced the addition of Wound Care Services in partnership with Healogics Wound Care. The Wound Care team, dedicated to healing chronic wounds, will begin seeing patients today, July 21, in the Palmer Health & Wellness Multi-Specialty Clinic, located on the second floor of hospital.

“Wound Care Services will meet an important community need,” said Dr. Scott Siege, regional chief medical officer at Baystate Wing Hospital. “We are proud to partner with Healogics Inc., the nation’s leading provider of advanced, chronic wound-care services to provide wound care locally in Palmer.”

More than 6.7 million Americans live with chronic wounds. Clinicians and public-health experts expect the number of people living with wounds will grow over the next decade due to an aging population and the increased prevalence of some diseases and conditions like diabetes.

“The Wound Care program is an outpatient program that focuses on chronic and non-healing wounds, Siege said. “Using advanced treatment modalities and a case-management model, the care team will aggressively manage wounds to ensure they heal quickly and completely. All patients will receive dedicated and specialized attention, with a goal to return to life free from the pain of chronic wounds.”
