Baystate Wing Hospital to Sponsor Babysitters Academy on Feb. 20

PALMER — Baystate Wing Hospital will sponsor a Babysitters Academy during the February school vacation to prepare area youth for babysitting responsibilities over the upcoming spring season. The one-day program will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The class will be held in the Griswold Center Conference Room on the hospital campus.

The Babysitters Academy is a certified babysitter program for young adults ages 11½ to 16. The session offers potential babysitters instruction in baby care, first aid, CPR, fire safety, home security, child behavior, and accident prevention. 

Participants are given a course booklet containing helpful tips and other information, and will receive a graduation certificate upon completion of the course. The program is offered by the Parenting program at Baystate Medical Center. There is a $75 fee per student, then $30 for each additional family or group member. Space is limited.
