BCBS of Massachusetts Foundation Welcomes Two Board Members
BOSTON — The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation announced the appointment of two new members to its board of directors: Dr. Thea James, vice president of mission and associate chief medical officer of Boston Medical Center, and Manny Lopes, president and CEO of the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center.
“We are excited to welcome Thea and Manny to our board,” said Phil Johnston, chairman of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation. “Together they bring a depth of experience, diverse viewpoints, and unparalleled insights in public and community health to the foundation’s leadership and governance.”
The foundation also announced the appointment of Michael Hunter as a non-director member to the board’s finance and audit committee. Hunter leads business-development activities at Trinity Financial, a Boston-based real-estate-development firm. He previously served in state government in various roles, including most recently as executive director of the Mass. Office of Business Development.
