Orthopedic Surgeon to Discuss Treatment for Arthritic Hip and Knee

NORTHAMPTON — Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Daniel Sage will present “Arthritis of the Hip and Knee: Understanding Trends in Treatment” on Wednesday, March 9 at 6 p.m. in the Dakin Conference Room at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

In this free community lecture, Sage will help demystify today’s varying recommendations around joint-replacement surgery and injection treatments. Attendees will gain insights on several topics of current interest and debate, including direct anterior approach to the hip, metal-on-metal implants, injections, and more.

Sage is medical director of the Cooley Dickinson Joint Replacement Center and a surgeon at Cooley Dickinson Medical Group Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in West Hatfield. He earned his doctorate of medicine at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and completed his orthopedic-surgery residency and adult-reconstruction fellowship at Indiana University.
