Foundation for TJO Animals Celebrates 10 Years of Pets Rock Fundraiser
SPRINGFIELD — The Foundation for TJO Animals held its annual Pets Rock event on Aug. 8, raising more than $13,000 to benefit animals at the TJO Animal Control & Adoption Center.
The foundation’s signature event celebrated its 10th anniversary by raising more than $13,000 to support its mission, making it the most successful Pets Rock fundraiser to date. Attendees enjoyed live music from Tough Customer, the Berkshires, and Project 267, with Rock 102’s Pat Kelly serving as host for the day. The event also featured raffles, local vendors, food trucks, and plenty of TJO supporters who gathered to enjoy the dog-friendly festivities. In addition, attendees donated pet food, treats, and supplies to benefit the foundation’s Pet Food Initiative.
“Pets Rock continues to show us just how powerful our community can be when we come together for animals,” said Janna Brown, executive director of the Foundation for TJO Animals. “Despite the heat, our community showed up in a big way, and we are thrilled to have raised more than ever before at this event. Every dollar will help provide critical medical care and enrichment for the animals at TJO, while also bringing us closer to our goal of expanding the shelter’s veterinary clinic to offer low-cost spay and neuter services in 2027. It’s a lofty goal, but the incredible support we saw at Pets Rock reminds us that we can make it happen together.”
The event was made possible through significant sponsors, including Kitchen & Bath Design Center, Florence Bank, and Heather Heeb – Keller Williams.
The Foundation for TJO Animals raises funds to provide resources and support for critical veterinary care and enrichment for the animals at the Thomas J O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and depends on the generosity of its supporters to achieve its goals.
