BFMC Clinical Notes to Present Summer Concert June 16
GREENFIELD — BFMC Clinical Notes, Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s women’s a cappella chorus, will present its annual summer solstice concert, “Happy in Song,” on Thursday, June 16 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the hospital’s conference rooms B and C. The concert is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Kathryn Aubrey-McAvoy, the group will perform a variety of selections, including folk, jazz, traditional, and rock. Individual members of the group will be featured as soloists. Hospital staff, patients, visitors, and the public are invited to attend. Guests should feel free to stay for the whole concert or for a short time, as time allows.
Clinical Notes was formed in 2003 by Phyllis Stone and Annginette Anderson, who shared a love of a cappella singing. Though members have come and gone over the 13 years, most of the singers have been in the group since its inception. Clinical Notes performs two formal concerts yearly (during the holidays and at the beginning of summer), and sings at various hospital-related functions, such as the annual Valentine’s Day Chocolate Festival, Nurses’ Week, and other celebrations. They have also performed during the Relay for Life Sacred Gathering, the Hospice of Franklin County Tree Lighting, BFMC’s Follies, and the United Way of Franklin County A Cappella Festival.
