Cooley Dickinson Orthopedic Surgeon to Discuss Bent Fingers June 15

NORTHAMPTON — Many conditions can leave one or more fingers in a chronically bent position, leading to self-consciousness, difficulty with daily tasks, and a lower quality of life.

On Wednesday, June 15, Dr. Teresa Pianta will present “Help Around the Bend: Identifying and Treating the Causes of Bent Fingers” at 6 p.m. in the Dakin Conference Room at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Attendees will learn about Dupuytren’s contracture as well as inflammatory, traumatic, and congenital/developmental conditions that can cause bent fingers. Pianta will talk about today’s surgical and non-surgical options for helping correct this common orthopedic problem.

Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Pianta specializes in the management of hand and upper extremity conditions at Cooley Dickinson Medical Group Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in West Hatfield.
