Caregivers Invited to Cardiovascular Conference on Sept. 13
WEST SPRINGFIELD — Area caregivers are invited to attend the fourth annual Western New England Regional STEMI Acute Myocardial Infarction Network Cardiovascular Conference, to be held Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Springfield Country Club, 1375 Elm St., West Springfield.
“The goal of this educational program is to support ideal care for our patients and the health of our community,” said Dr. Amir Lotfi, vice chair, Cardiology Division, Baystate Medical Center.
The program — presented by the Baystate Heart and Vascular Program and Baystate Health Continuing Interprofessional Education — is designed for physicians, nurses, and EMS providers.
Among the daylong topics will be “Refractory Cardiogenic Shock: Diagnosis, Prognosis, and Management,” “Mechanical Support for Cardiogenic Shock,” “STEMI PCI: Fix One or All? Culprit Vessel Treatment Only vs. Complete Revascularization,” “Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest: EMS – the Front Line of Care,” “Neurologic Prognosis After Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest,” and “Recent Advances to Endovascular Therapy of Stroke.”
There is no charge to attend the course, but pre-registration is required at learn.bhs.org by clicking on ‘regional conferences,’ then on ‘available courses.’ The program is designated for a maximum of 5 AMA PRA Category 1 credits.
