CDH Emergency Department Nurses Certified

NORTHAMPTON — Seven emergency nurses at Cooley Dickinson Hospital recently became certified as emergency room nurses by passing an exam administered by the Emergency Nurses Association.

According to the March 2004 ENA Connection, the newsletter of the Emergency Nurses Association, registered nurses Jeffrey Benoit, Casey Fowler, Donna Hounsell, Rose Knapik, Regina Kowal-Safron, Linda Ksieniewicz, and Helen Leupold have demonstrated advanced emergency nursing knowledge and are formally recognized for their commitment to professional growth and development.

Benoit, Emergency Department clinical nurse specialist, said this certification reflects a focus on excellence. “Our nursing staff has always been committed to furthering their clinical practice. Mastering the exam validates their commitment.”
