Daly Honored at Baystate Dedication
SPRINGFIELD — Recognizing his strategic vision and leadership of the organization for 22 years, Baystate Health recently honored Michael Daly during a dedication ceremony of the Daly Building, formerly the Centennial Building, at the system’s Springfield campus.
Baystate’s Board of Trustees officially renamed and dedicated the medical center to honor Daly, who served as chief executive officer from 1981 to 2003. An unveiling of a special plaque in his honor was among the festivities during a recent dedication ceremony, which included praise for Daly from current CEO Mark Tolosky.
“The years of Mike Daly’s tenure as president and chief executive officer of Baystate Health and Baystate Medical Center were momentous ones not only for our organization, but for the entire American health care system,” he said. “Mike Daly led Baystate through the emergence of managed care and the growth of health maintenance organizations.”
