Daniel O’Connor Joins AdCare as Community Service Representative

BOSTON — Daniel O’Connor has joined AdCare as its Greater Boston community service representative.

O’Connor will represent AdCare in the metropolitan Boston area. As a licensed alcohol and drug counselor, as well as a certified labor and employee-assistance professional, he brings many years of experience to his position. He is a past president of Labor Assistance Professionals of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts-Rhode Island Employee Assistance Professionals Assoc.

He serves on the boards of the Massachusetts Organization on Addiction Recovery and the Community Assoc. Serving Alcoholics. In addition to those roles, he has been a past member of the AFL-CIO Greater Boston Labor Council.

O’Connor has given many years of service to labor programs and individuals seeking recovery from substance-use disorders. In his new role, he will refer professionals, families, and patients seeking treatment. He will represent the AdCare Boston Outpatient Clinic, Adcare Hospital, and the AdCare Rhode Island Acute Residential Treatment Center, and is able to make connections to AdCare’s other facilities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Conceived in 1975 as a 10-bed alcoholism service in a general hospital, AdCare Hospital in Worcester provides for people affected by substance-use disorders. With inpatient and outpatient facilities in Worcester, Boston, Quincy, North Dartmouth, and West Springfield, Mass., as well as Warwick and North Kingston, R.I., AdCare is nationally accredited by the Joint Commission.
