Dementia Initiative Announces Workshop Series
FLORENCE — The Dementia Initiative welcomes three Cooley Dickinson Health Care providers as guest experts at its spring 2016 workshop series, “Mastering Dementia Caregiving.” The workshops will take place at Highland Valley Elder Services, 320 Riverside Dr., Florence.
Dr. Brian Smith, a neurologist with Sleep Medicine Services of Western Massachusetts, will present “Brain and Behavior Changes and Evaluations and Medications” on Wednesday, April 27 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Dr. Jeffrey Zesiger, director of Palliative Care at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, will present “Making Ethical Decisions Regarding Emergency Medical Care and End-of-Life Care” on Wednesday, May 11 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Jennifer Hutchison, physical therapist and Rehabilitation manager at Cooley Dickinson VNA and Hospice, will present “Creating a Safer Home” on Wednesday, June 8 from 4 to 6 p.m.
“Mastering Dementia Caregiving,” a free, 10-week workshop series for family and professional dementia caregivers, takes place Wednesdays from April 27 through June 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. Registration is required. For more information and to register, e-mail dementia-initiative@comcast.net.
