Fairview Commons Adds Adult Day Health Program

GREAT BARRINGTON — Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a component of Berkshire Health Systems, has opened an adult day health program, based at the nursing center, that will accommodate up to 18 people.

The new facility, which opened March 4, has been added to address concerns prompted by the closure of the adult day health program at Great Barrington Healthcare, a 96-bed nursing home. Fairview Commons has made renovations to accommodate the program, including a function room, activity programming, social services, nursing supervision, as well as lunch, served in the dining room.

“The staff at Fairview Commons is very excited about this new opportunity to meet the needs of Southern Berkshire elders by supporting this important program,” said William Stafford, administrator at the facility.
