Fallon Health Earns NCQA Health-equity Accreditation
WORCESTER — Fallon Health announced it has been awarded health-equity accreditation by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). This accreditation recognizes the organization’s long-standing commitment to providing high-quality and equitable care to its members.
“We’re honored to achieve this recognition from the NCQA highlighting the important work Fallon Health is doing to eliminate disparities in healthcare,” said Manny Lopes, president and CEO. “Providing our members, who represent some of the most complex in the state, with the best possible care is central to our mission. And we look forward to continuing our efforts in this area of focus as well as ensuring our members have access to quality and affordable care.”
NCQA’s health-equity accreditation evaluates how well an organization complies with standards in the following areas: organizational readiness; framework for and collection of race/ethnicity, language, gender identity, and sexual orientation; access and availability of language services; practitioner network cultural responsiveness; culturally and linguistically appropriate services and programs; and reducing healthcare disparities.
“Earning health-equity accreditation shows that an organization is making a breakthrough in providing excellent healthcare to diverse populations. I congratulate any organization that achieves this level of distinction,” NCQA President Margaret O’Kane said. “Eliminating racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare is essential to improving the quality of care overall.”
Fallon Health’s health-equity vision is that everyone deserves access to healthcare without discrimination. It celebrates diversity and inclusion and is committed to providing inclusive services for all.
Fallon Health serves approximately 131,025 members enrolled predominantly in government-sponsored health-insurance programs, including Medicare and Medicaid.
