Gastroenterologist Dr. Harbir Sawhney to Discuss Digestive Issues at Nov. 5 Seminar

PALMER — Baystate Health’s Senior Class will hold a free seminar on Tuesday, Nov. 5 titled “That Gut Feeling.” The event, slated for noon to 1:30 p.m., will be held in the Main Conference Room at Baystate Mary Lane Outpatient Center, 85 South St., Ware.

Dr. Harbir Sawhney, gastroenterologist at Baystate Mary Lane and Baystate Wing Hospital, will lead a discussion that will focus on gastrointestinal causes of pain and other symptoms. He will also discuss tests used to diagnose digestive issues as well as the many treatments available.

“Most people don’t like to talk about it, but having a gastrointestinal problem is common,” said Susan Fontaine, senior coordinator of Loyalty Programs at Baystate Health. “Dr. Sawhney will offer a discussion and share the latest news and treatment options about gastroesophageal reflux disease, also known as GERD, or heartburn and other digestive problems. And there will be plenty of time for questions and answers.”

Baystate Health Senior Class is a free loyalty program dedicated to health and wellness, offered exclusively for men and women ages 55 and over.

The “That Gut Feeling” seminar with Sawhney is offered at no cost, and a light lunch will be served. Registration is required by calling (413) 794-5200 or visiting thatgutfeeling.eventbrite.com.
