Haas Named Executive Director Of River Valley Counseling Center

HOLYOKE — Matt Haas, LICSW, of Northampton, has been named executive director of River Valley Counseling Center. RVCC is a licensed outpatient mental health clinic that provides counseling and treatment services to individuals and families in the Holyoke/Chicopee area.

Specialized programs include Day Treatment, school based services, and comprehensive support and housing services for children and adults affected by HIV/AIDS. Special emphasis is placed on serving the Spanish-speaking population as well as disadvantaged and underserved groups.

Haas will continue to maintain his position as director of Behavioral Health Services at Holyoke Medical Center. The announcement was made by Hank J. Porten, president of Valley Health Systems, the parent organization of both River Valley Counseling Center and Holyoke Medical Center.

Haas has been associated with Holyoke Medical Center since 1993, serving as director of Behavioral Health at the facility since 2004. Prior to that he was director of the Partial Hospitalization Program, outpatient and crisis services.
