Holyoke Hospital Salutes Volunteers
HOLYOKE — In conjunction with National Volunteer Month in May, Holyoke Hospital saluted its many volunteers with a recognition ceremony and luncheon at the hospital.
The hospital paid special tribute to several volunteers who recently marked milestones in terms of their service:
• Honored for 100 years of service were Mary Brassil, Claire Goddu, and Robert Sanborn of Holyoke; Jane Howard of Southampton; Harry Thomas of Agawam; and Mark Wegrzyn of Chicopee;
• Honored for 1000 hours of service were Joan Casavant of South Hadley and Eugenia Williamson of Holyoke.
• Saluted for 1,500 hours of volunteer service was Margaret “Dolly” Paquette of South Hadley, while Mary St. Germain of South Hadley was honored for 3,500 hours.
• The hospital paid tribute to Louise DaFonte of Holyoke for contributing 4,000 hours of volunteer service and Theresa Ostapiej, who has logged 6,500 hours of service.
• Receiving special recognition was Mike Doyle of Holyoke for 9,500 hours of service and Mary Drummer of Holyoke, who has volunteered more than 10,000 hours of service on behalf of the hospital and its patients.
