Holyoke Medical Center Employees Donate to Womanshelter Compañeras

HOLYOKE — On Friday, April 29, Holyoke Medical Center (HMC) employees will present a check for $1,000 to Womanshelter Compañeras, in addition to many basic-needs items that were collected throughout the months of February and March. These items include new towels, face cloths, blankets, sheets, comforters, baby clothes, baby products, women’s clothing, and kitchen supplies. The donation will be presented at 11:15 a.m. in the hospital lobby, 575 Beech St., Holyoke.

Womanshelter Compañeras is an organization in Holyoke dedicated to assisting, supporting, and empowering those whose lives are affected by battering and abuse. It was selected by the HMC employee engagement committee to be the first of many nonprofit organizations to benefit from the generosity of HMC employees and visitors. Monetary contributions are collected in the HMC cafeteria and the gift and coffee shop. Each month, a new, local, nonprofit organization will be selected by the HMC Ace of Hearts Employee of the Month.
