Holyoke Medical Center to Hold Prostate Health & PSA Testing Lecture

HOLYOKE — Holyoke Medical Center will host a lecture on “Prostate Health & PSA Testing” on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the HMC Auxiliary Conference Center.

Dr. Alexander Berry from the HMC Urology Center will discuss what men should know about prostate health and explain prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood testing. Some experts recommend that most men be offered the tests starting at age 50, while others don’t feel it offers enough benefit to recommend to anyone except those at highest risk. Berry will cover this and more, as well as answer any questions attendees may have.

This program is free and open to the public, and is part of the medical center’s community-education programming, one in a series of dozens of workshops held throughout the year to help people learn about specific health issues, wellness, prevention, and treatment.
