Holyoke Names Department Chiefs

HOLYOKE – Holyoke Hospital has announced the appointment of two new chiefs of medical departments: Dr. Tedd Ackerman of Amherst was named chief of Psychiatry, while Dr. Mark Singer of Northampton was appointed chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Ackerman, who joined the hospital’s medical staff in 1994, is a graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate School of Medicine. He performed his residency in Psychiatry at the New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center, Westchester Division; his residency in Radiology at SUNY; and his residency in Internal Medicine at Staten Island Hospital. His board certifications include Diplomate in Psychiatry; the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; and Geriatric Psychiatry. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Assoc.

Singer, who joined the hospital’s medical staff in 1981, is a graduate of Albany Medical College. He performed his residency at Magee Women’s Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh. He then served in the U.S. Air Force for two years. Board-certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology, he is a member of the American College of Ob/Gyns and the Mass. Medical Society. He is a clinical instructor with Springfield College’s Physician Assistant Program.
