LONGMEADOW – Jewish Geriatric Services (JGS), in Longmeadow, recently announced that it has named Barbara L. Macdonald, M.S., APRN, BC, to the newly created system-wide position of director of Professional Practice and Nursing Outcomes.
In her new role, she will oversee multiple components of JGS’s various quality improvement initiatives, including the organization’s involvement in the NICHE program (adopted from New York University and the John Hartford Foundation), it’s partnership with UMass Amherst’s School of Nursing, as well as ongoing staff education and development efforts. She will be reporting to Linda Donoghue, Chief Operating Officer at JGS.
In light of Mcdonald’s move to her new position, JGS also announced that Violeta de los Reyes, RN, BSN, has accepted a promotion to director of Nursing at the Julian J. Leavitt Family Jewish Nursing Home.
She has served the nursing home for many years, most recently as the assistant director of Nursing.
In addition, JGS announced that Jane W. Sullivan, RN, BSN, M.Ed, will assume the role of assistant director of Nursing at the Julian J. Leavitt Family Jewish Nursing Home.
She has been serving as Director of Staff Development at the nursing home and brings more than 30 years of experience in the nursing profession to this new role. |
